5 Steps to Becoming a Hero
Have you ever imagined yourself a hero? Most
of us have at one time or another. We just never talk about it.
Polite society doesn't look kindly on people who consider themselves
heroes.
But wait... is it really wrong to want to be a hero to a
child, a friend, your spouse or even yourself? Not at all!
Being a hero adds enormous power to your life because it tends
to make you rise above the everyday. And here's the best part - you
don't have to tell anyone! People will know without being told when you
are wearing a hero cape.
Would you like to start building your hero status today?
Here are 5 steps that will help you tap into your "inner hero":
- Listen to the inner you in all situations. You will be
told the right and ethical thing to do. Perhaps it won't be to your
liking. But, when you do it anyway, you are building your inner
hero status.
- Know that you are connected to a divine energy source that has
infinite wisdom. Some people call it God. Others might use a
different name. It makes no difference what you call it as long as you
recognize its existence. Through this recognition you invite hero actions
into your life based on infinite wisdom.
- Accept yourself for who you are right now. You've heard
it said of someone, "She's very comfortable in her own skin." That person
is almost always a hero to herself and others around her. And even though
she is comfortable, she is never satisfied. She is always working to be
a little better today than she was yesterday. You can be that kind of
hero.
- Fight fear. Remember, superheroes walk with confidence.
If you feel fear creeping into a situation, ask yourself this question, "How
would my inner hero handle this?" Then align your outer actions to match
that thought. Remember the old saying, "Act the way you want to be and
soon you'll be the way you act."
- Walk to the beat of your own drum. Forget the crowd - you
are an individual created for a purpose. Stand, act and walk like the
hero you have been created to be.
When you make these suggestions your creed, you will find
yourself feeling like a hero, acting like a hero and being treated like a hero.
Little things will happen. People will be asking for your advice.
You'll attract good friends. Children will want to share your
space.
Just one word of warning - once you have obtained
hero status, forget about it. Real heroes never think of themselves as
heroes!
